Camp Pendleton Marines To Train Near Laughlin

Marines from Camp Pendleton in California will be training at one of the region's airports.

The Mohave Daily News reports an attack helicopter squadron will be based at Laughlin/Bullhead City International Airport from Aug. 9-19.

Crews will be flying helicopters from the airport both during the day and at night as part of training exercises.

The airport said it was selected for the training in part because of space available and because of the weather conditions at the facility.

Estimates are roughly 120 persons will be based at the airport during training, along with six helicopters.
