Reno Airport Board Appoints New Chairman

RENO, Nev. (AP) — An Eldorado Resort Casino executive has been named the new chairman of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority board.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Eldorado's vice president of sales and marketing, Rick Murdock, was appointed to the position Tuesday. The appointments are made by cities of Reno and Sparks, Washoe County and the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority.

Murdock, who has been working at Eldorado for 35 years, has been a trustee of the airport since 2009. He has served as air service liaison for five years and recently helped bring 11 new flights to the airport in that role.

Murdock says he's looking forward to working with other board members to boost the airport's operations.
