Trump, Rubio Make Campaign Stops In Southern Nevada

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is expected to appear at a noon campaign rally in Las Vegas at the Treasure Island casino-hotel.

The event will be inside a theater dedicated to Cirque du Soleil shows at the property owned by friend and business partner Phil Ruffin.

The two own the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Sun reports some had lined up to hear Trump speak as early as 4:00 a.m.

He's not the only Republican presidential hopeful in town, though -- Florida Senator Marco Rubio begins a three-day visit to the area Thursday with events scheduled in Summerlin, Las Vegas and Boulder City.

Casey Morell is the coordinating producer of Nevada Public Radio's flagship broadcast State of Nevada and one of the station's midday newscast announcers. (He's also been interviewed by Jimmy Fallon, whatever that's worth.)
