Old Boulder City Hospital Demolition Put On Hold

The demolition of the historic Boulder City Hospital has been put on hold.

The Boulder City Review reports a group has filed an appeal with the city council with respect to the permitting process for the demolition.

The Boulder City council will have a hearing on September 22 to consider the appeal, which pertains to whether or not the city followed its own rules in issuing the permits for demolishing the hospital.

According to city rules, any historic building set for demolition must be evaluated first to determine whether or not the property can be preserved, and there are questions as to whether or not that took place.
