Las Vegas Club On Fremont Street To Close Wednesday Night

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Las Vegas Club casino-hotel in downtown Las Vegas will close just after 11:59 p.m. Wednesday and take its name with it.

The slot machines and table games as well as the Las Vegas Club name were not part of the sale announced last week to Derek and Greg Stevens who own The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate casino-hotel on Fremont Street.

Stevens says a few months will be spent evaluating the property's condition before determining what to do with it. He expects to keep it closed during any demolition and renovation unlike the three years spent converting Fitzgerald's into The D.

CEO Jonathan Jossel of Plaza Hotel & Casino LLC and PlayLV which operated the property's casino says he'll move many games across the street to the Plaza.
