Great Backyard Bird Count
Great Backyard Bird Count
The Great Backyard Bird Count is held around the world for four days each February. The information gathered is used by scientists to help determine the health of bird populations. How can you help?
First, pick a place to go and watch birds. Watch birds for 15 minutes or more, at least once over the four days. Identify all the birds you see or hear (there are tools to help). Share that info with the Cornell Bird Lab or the Audubon Society.
There don't seem to be any group outings in Southern Nevada, but check the map on the website to see if any have been added. Tools for identifying birds and passing along your findings are also there.
