Welcome to our latest installment of the Acadiana Music Showcase. Produced by our friends at KRVS in Lafayette, La., the concert series highlights the rich musical history of Southern Louisiana.

Today, it's a pleasure to welcome Corey Ledet. Even though Ledet was born in Houston, he spent summers in Parks, La., falling in love with zydeco music. His career spans over 30 years, both as a solo artist and in a trio alongside Leyla McCalla and Louis Michot.

Ledet is a two-time Grammy Award nominee, and in 2023, he released Médikamen, an entire album of original music sung in Kouri-Vini, or Louisiana Creole. Today, he performs songs from his most recent release, Live in Alaska.

This episode of World Cafe was edited by Miguel Perez and produced by KRVS Public Media at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. It is brought to you through a partnership with Louisiana's Division of the Arts, the Acadiana Center for the Arts, Lafayette Consolidated Government, Lafayette Travel, David and Jon-Ella Hayes and Ton's Downtown.
