VA Bill Offers Help For Local Veterans

Just as Congress is set to go on a summer break, a committee from both houses has negotiated a package to reform the Veterans' Administration and fund more staff to reduce waiting times. And those funds will help veterans in Southern Nevada, says Congresswoman Dina Titus, D-Nevada 1. She was a member of the committee and has added specific provisions to the bill: increased funding for more physicians.

The package also includes legislation pushed by Rep. Titus - access to education funding for surviving spouses of veterans and sexual assault counseling for National Guard members. The National Guard had previously not been covered by counseling benefits.
