More Than 64K Ballots Cast So Far During NV Early Voting

Almost 5 percent of Nevada's 1.3 million active registered voters have cast a ballot in the first week of Nevada's two-week early voting period.

Statistics released by the Nevada Secretary of State's Office show more than 50,000 people statewide have showed up in-person to vote early in the primary, while nearly 14,000 mail-in ballots have been received.

Of the more than 64,000 ballots cast, 44 percent came from Republicans and 41 percent came from Democrats.

Early voting turnout this year is at a quicker pace than in the 2014 and 2012 primaries.

The early voting period began May 28 and ends June 10. Election Day is June 14.
