Sports in Nevada are now firmly entrenched. As a relatively new development, we've had some incredible teams already, but it’s not easy to keep that going.

The Vegas Golden Knights just swept their homestand, winning three in a row. They have 12 games left and look great, but many teams are good this year. Are they worth betting on for the Stanley Cup, which they won just two years ago?

In the middle, you have the Las Vegas Aces. They made some big trades, letting go of a star but getting another in return. Can they win it all this year?

UNLV football was spectacular last year. But they lost their coach who left for a lot more money in the Big Ten. We’re used to hearing how good a new coach is, but is Dan Mullen as good as he’s been sold to us?

And on the low end: The Raiders and UNLV basketball. The Runnin' Rebels did nothing this year. The Lady Rebels didn’t get to the NCAA tournament. The men’s team appears ready to hire a coach who hasn’t been on the bench in two years. Are we talking about projects to work on, or sure-fire winners?

Plus, the Las Vegas Raiders are in transition with a new coach.
