The paintings of Robert Beckmann’s newest exhibition titled, “Transmutations: Robert Beckmann, Under the Western Sky, 1977 to 2017” knock you over with their imagery.
Nuclear clouds electrified. Robed figures against a dilapidated Las Vegas Strip. The broken bones of a house decimated by an atomic bomb. A brook in a forest disappears as you get closer.
The exhibition, now at the Sahara West Library, is a vast retrospective of his work that runs through March 18.
