New York City, meet Tonopah, Nevada.
At least, meet its massive solar array. Irish artist John Gerrard recently unveiled an art installation featuring the Crescent Solar Energy Project in Tonopah -- a solar power plant of 10,000 mirrors on more than 1,000 acres -- in upper Manhattan.
Gerrard’s art installation, Solar Reserve, is a 28-by-24-foot wall of light emitting diodes outside the Lincoln Center.
The wall depicts the 110-megawatt solar power plant 190 miles northeast of Las Vegas in a way that stops even hardened New Yorkers in their tracks.
