The number of on-duty deaths of police officers increased by one-thirdcompared to last year, according to a study commissioned by the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. Shooting deaths of officers increased by 56 percent from last year. The community in Las Vegas was stunned when two officers were killed in an ambush in June. So how do officers, and their families, cope with the dangers of the job? And how does it feel to put on the uniform when you know it may turn you into a target?
