Secretary of State Ross Miller wants to tighten gift reporting requirements for politicians. Right now, elected officials don't have to disclose "educational trips," like the all-expenses-paid trip to Israel that several legislators accepted last year. Miller has been promoting legislation that would better define the types of gifts that must be reported, but his bills have languished in the legislature. So what will it take to improve reporting requirements? And why is it important to the voters of Nevada?
