Hunger In Southern Nevada

Every day in the United States people are struggling to put basic meals on the dinner table for themselves and their families. About 340,000 people or 16 percent of the population in Southern Nevada are considered food insecure.

Often, these people come from middle class backgrounds who may have been victims of the foreclosure crisis or who are dealing with our region’s high unemployment. They have found themselves in situations they never imagined they would experience.

What do we do to fix the problem and how can we help people who are going hungry?
