Pianist Chih-Long Hu

Chih-Long Hu's mother is a piano teacher, and he's been playing piano longer than he can remember.  Even in kindergarten, he was the 5-year-old accompanying the class on the piano.  But in college, he suddenly found himself at a crossroad: continue with a stable career in engineering, or attempt life as a professional pianist.  Chih-Long Hu talks about how he made that choice, how a deadly earthquake inspired him to compose, and why performing onstage feels otherworldly.  Chih-Long Hu performs Friday, October 7, at 7:30 pm at UNLV's Beam Music Center.
