Charter schools are often seen as a better alternative to traditional public schools. But research has shown that many of them perform the same, or in some cases worse, than non-charter schools. Nevada's new Superintendent of Public Instruction, James Guthrie, says he wants to triple the amount of charters schools run by the state. Last year Gov.
