Google Street View

The Clark County Museum on Boulder Highway in Henderson is opening a new 4,000-square-foot storage facility this week to help care for more than a million artifacts, according to a statement released Monday.

Among them will be some 22,000 items from the 1 October tragedy, along with articles from the Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum and The Searchlight Historic Museum.

Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson will be on hand when the facility opens on Thursday.

He said when items are accepted into the museum’s collection, they need to be cared for in perpetuity so the story of Clark County lives on.

The Clark County Museum features displays about Southern Nevada history from prehistoric to modern times.
