The Clark County Commission on Tuesday approved spending up to $7.6 million during the next four years to provide job training to low-income residents, including County Social Service Department clients and young adults aging out of the county foster care system.
A news release says the contract with the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas supports the organization’s Advance Nevada Initiative that provides job training and employment services, including vocational programs in the hospitality industry.
The program also provides case management and housing support services to participants through the County Social Service Department. It has been in place since 2020 and the county says is has helped 400 local residents find jobs.
The contract approved by the commission supports program operations through June 2026.
