Nevada Reports Virus Cases, Hospitalizations Trending Down

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada health officials say a measure of new coronavirus cases statewide is trending down, along with hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients.

The state Department of Health and Human Services said Monday that a two-week measure of test positivity has decreased to 15.5%, after peaking at 21.6% on Jan. 14.

The World Health Organization target is 5%. State officials say more than 2.5 million tests have been administered. Hospitalizations were down to 964, after peaking at more than 1,800 in December.
