The Clark County School District says it has reached an agreement with the teachers union that could lead to reopening schools for younger students early next year.
The district said the "tentative memorandum of agreement" with the Clark County Education Association is the first step in getting back to classroom instruction.
Superintendent Jesus Jara said the first students to return would be pre-kindergarten through third grade.

The school board will hear the plan on January 14.
If the board approves it, in-person learning could start in February.
The plan includes mandatory testing for teachers, contact tracing and access to personal protective equipment. Negotiations are ongoing with unions representing support staff and administrators.
