New Grocery Store To Open In Laughlin

A new grocery store is opening in Laughlin after the only grocery store in the city closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The owners of The Market at Laughlin used an economic development grant from Clark County to open the store.

The grant provided up to $120,000 for expenses such as rent, utility payments, inventory, equipment and renovations.

In return, The Market was required to hire at least 20 full-time employees and be open at least 10 hours a day, six days a week.

Money for the grant came from the Federal CARES Act.
