The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says Nevada's unemployment rate was 13.2% in August, down from July’s 14%, with 6,500 jobs added in the state.
However, Nevada has lost 133,600 jobs when compared to August 2019.
The state's chief economist said trade, transportation and utilities saw the most job gains last month, with the overall gain lower than in May, June or July.

He said the pandemic continues to weigh on the labor market, and as the response to it by businesses and the public continues to evolve, there is a long road ahead for a full recovery.
