Nevada Coronavirus Cases Bounce Back Up; Deaths Near 1,200

LAS VEGAS (AP) — After decreasing earlier in the week, state health officials say number of new coronavirus cases in Nevada totaled 849 on Friday, including at least 13 new deaths.

A daily report by the state Department of Health and Human Services also showed decreases in hospitalizations and intensive care cases of people confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19.

The number of deaths statewide since the first fatality was reported in the state in March approached 1,200.

Officials decided Thursday that bars and taverns will remain closed in the Las Vegas and Reno areas, along with Elko and Pahrump, to limit spread of the virus.
