Las Vegas Bakes In Record Temperatures Amid West US Heat Wave

LAS VEGAS (AP) — It'll be record-hot on Monday and Tuesday in Las Vegas, which is baking beneath an ongoing heatwave that tied a high-temperature mark on Sunday.

The National Weather Service says Monday's expected high is 114 degrees at McCarran International Airport. That's well above the current record temperature for the date of 111 degrees set in 1939.

The high on Sunday in Las Vegas was 113 degrees, tying a 1939 record. Meteorologist Dan Berc says some neighborhoods saw even higher temperatures. The expected high on Tuesday is again 114 degrees.
