Feds: Push By ATF, Las Vegas Police Led To 8 Gun, Drug Arrests

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say the recent arrests of eight people on federal weapon and drug charges resulted from a months-long investigation of gun sales and violence in two crime-troubled Las Vegas neighborhoods.

U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich said Wednesday the arrests followed criminal indictments in seven cases that court records showed resulted from investigations dating to October.

Most charges focus on allegations of gun and drug sales in January, February and March. Trutanich says 30 guns, ammunition and quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine were seized during the effort dubbed Operation Nora.
