NV Special Session Interrupted By Positive COVID-19 Test

Nevada lawmakers have been meeting to address budget shortfalls caused by the pandemic. But hearings were interrupted Friday by a positive COVID-19 test.

State officials mandated temperature screenings and social distancing to protect lawmakers from COVID-19. Despite those measures, it was confirmed that a person who had been in the building tested positive for the virus.

Officials didn’t specify if it was a lawmaker, employee or member of the press, but shortly after the announcement, Assembly members convened for less than five minutes to announce they would adjourn for the day.
