The Nevada System of Higher Education’s Board of Regents voted unanimously Thursday to hire Dr. Melody Rose to replace outgoing Chancellor Thom Reilly.
Dr. Rose thanked the selection committee and board members for trusting her to take the helm at a “very challenging moment.”
Dr. Rose’s higher education credentials span 25 years, including consulting and a stint as chancellor of Oregon’s college and university system.
The NSHE selection committee recommended Rose for the chancellor position after interviewing four finalists from a pool of 40 applicants.
