Sisolak: Nevada Reopening On Pause Following Uptick In Cases

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak says the state has no plans to advance to Phase 3 of its reopening plan in the near future due to recent uptick in the number of new cases reported daily.

A week and a half after casinos, restaurants and gyms reopened in limited capacity, Sisolak said state health officials needed to examine the increasing number of new cases before lifting restrictions on additional gatherings, including at churches and bars.

After a week in the number of new daily cases trending upward, Nevada reported 106 additional coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 11,279 confirmed cases.
