Marchant Wins GOP Primary, Will Face Horsford

LAS VEGAS (AP) —Former Nevada Assemblyman Jim Marchant has won a crowded primary for a U.S. House seat in southern Nevada currently held by Democrat Steven Horsford.

Results released Monday show Marchant defeated business owner Lisa Song Sutton, Nye County Commissioner Leo Blundo, Rosalie Bingham, Charles Navarro, Sam Peters, Randi Reed, and Rebecca Wood in last week's primary election.

Marchant will face Horsford in November for the 4th Congressional District seat.

It's considered a swing district, giving Republicans a chance to retake it, but Democrats have an edge among registered voters.
