Reno Mayor Orders Curfew After Days Of Unrest

Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve announced a curfew amid days of nationwide Black Lives Matter protests, some of which have turned violent and destructive.

Mayor Schieve says the nightly 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew will continue indefinitely “out of an abundance of caution for public safety.”

The mayor declared a Local State of Emergency on May 30.

ACLU Nevada said in a statement the curfew order “fails to identify a present state of civil disorder to warrant even one evening of a forced curfew.”
