Southwest Utah Has Highest Single-Day Rise In COVID-19 Cases

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Southwestern Utah has recorded its highest single-day increase in coronavirus cases since daily counts began in March, after 25 more people tested positive for COVID-19.

The Spectrum reported that the Southwestern Utah Public Health Department released a report that said the region has been averaging about 11 new daily cases this month.

Health officials say there have been about 360 positive coronavirus cases in the region and four deaths. More than 200 of those people have recovered.

Residents have been urged to continue practicing good personal hygiene and follow social distancing guidelines. Statewide there were about 8,900 COVID-19 cases as of Thursday and 106 deaths.
