Higher Ed Looks To Reopen Career, Tech Labs At Colleges, Universities

The Nevada System of Higher Education has asked the governor’s office if it can start using career and technical education labs on college and university campuses.

During a Board of Regents meeting Friday, Chancellor Thom Reilly said he’s hoping that could fit under Phase One of the state’s reopening plan so students could complete needed coursework, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

He said about 2,000 students statewide had to take incompletes in certain courses because they couldn’t do lab work. Nevada’s colleges and universities moved to remote instruction in mid-March after campuses were closed to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
