Report: Churchill County Leads Nevada In Census Responses

CARSON CITY, Nev.  — A report shows that more than half of Nevada households have filled out their census questionnaire, matching the nationwide response rate of 53.4%.

The Nevada Appeal reported that the Census Bureau released data Monday that revealed that Boulder City, Henderson and Fallon had over 60% participation. Boulder City had the highest participation rate with 62.6%.

Officials say households were asked to fill out questionnaires online and anyone who has yet to do so would receive multiple reminders. Census counts are used to determine how many seats a state receives in the U.S. House of Representatives, and determines federal government funding.
