Nevada: 12 More Coronavirus Deaths, Increasing Total To 58

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada officials say the number of deaths in the state from the coronavirus has risen to at least 58, an increase of 12.

State officials released the higher number of deaths in a statement Monday night after saying earlier Monday that the statewide total had remained at 46.

The statement said Gov. Steve Sisolak's office was investigating whether the additional deaths occurred Monday or whether "there was a lag in timely reporting over the weekend." Nevada has reported more than 2,000 positive tests for COVID-19.

Most people with the virus experience mild or moderate fever and coughing for two to three weeks. Some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, can face severe illness including pneumonia and death.
