Ex-MGM CEO Says Virus Task Force Working To Find Tests, Gear

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Former MGM Resorts International CEO Jim Murren says he and other Nevada business leaders on a new task force are trying to leverage their global contacts to offer a shortcut for the state to get medical supplies to fight the coronavirus.

Murren said at a news conference Monday that the task force Nevada's governor tapped him to run is trying to "mobilize the private sector" to secure supplies and equipment either through donations or by purchasing them and then donating them to the state.

He says businesses can move faster than governments limited by regulations and purchasing rules.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
