Southern Nevada Water Utilities Warn Against Impersonators

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Water utilities in southern Nevada are warning customers to be aware of people possibly impersonating themselves as employees.

The Las Vegas Valley Water District and the Southern Nevada Water Authority said Sunday that they are suspending any visits to residential and business properties because of the novel coronavirus outbreak.

They are, however, warning the public to be on the lookout for individuals who may try to enter homes or other sites under the guise of being a utility worker.

Las Vegas police are also issuing caution after receiving unverified reports of such activity. Utility managers say no worker would knock on a customer's door.
