Las Vegas Agency allocates $2.4M To Host NFL Draft In April

Tourism officials in Las Vegas are allocating $2.4 million to host the NFL draft in a little more than 10 weeks.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority board has approved a budget for promotions, police, "marquee event elements," and $500,000 for contracts to be signed by the authority chief executive.

Plans for the three-day event starting April 23 include closing a central part of the neon-lit Las Vegas Strip near Caesars Palace and setting a red carpet area amid the iconic fountains in front of the Bellagio resort.

Teams will make player selections at the Caesars Forum conference center.
