A former Nye County Juvenile Probation Office employee is accused of embezzling over $100,000.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office says in October, it was asked to investigate allegations against administrative assistant Melinda Hinrichs.
The Sheriff’s office says Hinrichs “was cooperative and provided information about the money she stole and the times she had attempted to repay the funds.”
Hinrichs also resigned from her job with the county.
The case has now been submitted to the Nye County District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
