Passenger Tally Up For 11th Straight Month At Las Vegas Airport

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials in Las Vegas say September marked the seventh time since January that McCarran International Airport handled more than 4 million passengers in one month.

The Clark County Department of Aviation reported Wednesday the 4.3 million people arriving and departing from the airport in September was up 6.8% from the same month a year ago.

Passenger traffic marks a key index of tourism in Las Vegas, where the airport has handled 38.5 million passengers this year. That's a pace to surpass 50 million for the first time.

McCarran handled a record 49.7 million passengers in 2018. It's one of the 10 busiest airports in the U.S. based on passenger count.

Southwest Airlines is by far the busiest carrier at McCarran, followed by Spirit, Delta, American and United.
