USGA's 2023 Senior Amateur Championship Set Near Lake Tahoe

RENO, Nev. (AP) — The U.S. Golf Association has announced a mountain course near Lake Tahoe will host the 69th U.S. Senior Amateur Championship in August 2023.

The tournament will be played at the Martis Camp Club in Truckee, California.

USGA senior managing director John Bodenhamer says it's the first time the event will be held in the Sierra Nevada.

Martis Camp was designed by Tom Fazio and opened for play in June 2008. Set among forested mountains surrounding Martis Valley, the par-72 course plays to 7,707 yards.

Martis Camp also hosted the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.

The U.S. Senior Amateur was first played in 1955.
