Former Washoe County School Superintendent Sues School District

Former Washoe County School District Superintendent Traci Davis filed suit against the district on Friday, two months after school board members voted to fire her.

The complaint was filed against the district, the district’s Board of Trustees, and Board President Katy Simon Holland.

The school board fired Davis because they believed she leaked confidential information about a workplace investigation.

Davis maintained she was innocent and was fired 'without cause,' in which case, she would be entitled per her contract to a severance payment.

The district’s legal counsel maintains the district acted openly, transparently and fairly and did not violate her contract.
