UNLV Won't Release Information On Dental School Investigation

UNLV is refusing to release details of an investigation into its dental program that cost more than $350,000.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the school was investigating the reuse of single-use dental implants.

The school hired the Dentons law firm in March 2018 to investigate the issue and school billing practices.

A spokesperson with the school said the money to pay for the report came from school investment income, but the audit results and the scope of the work are not public.

Attorneys for the RJ have said a list of the scope of work to be conducted by a law firm is not an attorney-client privileged communication, thus the school should release the findings of the investigation.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
