Hundreds Of New Laws Go Into Effect In Nevada

More than 200 bills passed by this year’s Nevada Legislature go into effect Monday.

Among the most notable bills is AB431, which restores voting rights to Nevada residents who were formerly incarcerated for felonies but have completed their sentences.

The new law is estimated to restore voting rights to up to 77,000 Nevadans.

Another measure removes time limits on prosecuting sexual assaults if DNA evidence is obtained, and AB192 allows anyone convicted of an offense that has been decriminalized to request that their records be sealed.
