VGK Owner Eyes MLS Franchise

The man responsible for bringing the Golden Knights to Las Vegas now has his eye on Major League Soccer.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Golden Knights owner Bill Foley has been in discussions over the past few months to land an MLS team that would play in the new Raiders stadium.

When reached for comment about the potential stadium share, Raiders owner Mark Davis said Major League Soccer would be at the top of the list to fill dates at the stadium.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas City Council voted to move forward with negotiations to build a new soccer stadium on the site of Cashman Field to also house a Major League Soccer Franchise.

The approval allows a negotiating period of 180 days.
