A finance error could mean the Nevada System of Higher Education won’t be able to fully fund a 3 percent cost of living increase for its workers.
It appears the governor’s finance office left its budget $6.4 million short, which means higher education workers will get a cost of living raise of 2.4 percent over the next two years, and not the anticipated 3 percent raise.
The Board of Regents will hold its quarterly meeting this week in Reno, where they’ll discuss the deficit and possible remedies.
