A flood advisory continued until 7:15 Tuesday morning for northwestern Elko County.
The Owyhee River has been rising this morning as rain continues to fall in the region.
The city of Elko saw just over four-tenths of an inch of rain Saturday, a record for the date, and its May total of 2.38 inches is almost three times the monthly average.
The National Weather Service is also watching the Humboldt River between Battle Mountain and Winnemucca.
That section of the river rose just above flood stage earlier Tuesday morning, and it’s predicted to slowly rise until Thursday.
The forecast for Elko calls continued showers and thunderstorms through at least Sunday.
