The Clark County School District and local law enforcement have announced an effort to increase school safety and police patrols, as the end of the school year approaches.
CCSD school police and Las Vegas Metro discussed multi-agency efforts for the last few weeks of the school year during a press conference Tuesday.
School police said new K-9 officers will be used to detect firearms and will search at least two schools a day in the coming weeks. In addition, at least one school a day will be conducting a random weapons search.
