Thedrick Andres has stepped in as the acting police chief in Henderson after the city fired LaTesha Watson.
Andres told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he has been tasked with repairing relationships with police unions and firming up department policies.
City officials placed former chief Watson on paid administrative leave in February and fired her about a month later.
