DOJ Grants Clark County $1M For Anti-Gang Program

The U.S. Department of Justice awarded more than $1 million to a Clark County program aimed at reducing youth and gang violence.

U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich made the announcement the money will go toward developing programs to stop MS-13, a transnational criminal organization. The $1.2 million comes from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said it intends to work with local law enforcement and youth programs to implement the grant money for its Project Safe Neighborhoods. The goal of the program is to dismantle MS-13, disrupt illegal enterprises and incarcerate MS-13 members and affiliates. PSN is a nationwide program by the Department of Justice.
